2nd (and 3rd!) Helpings of HYO at the Blueberry Festival!

The Blueberry Festival has asked the Hernando Youth Orchestra (HYO) to play again this year—twice!

Back by popular acclaim after 2013’s great performance, the 30-member group is comprised of aspiring string and woodwind players, ages 6 to 21.  A few brass and percussion instrumentalists round out the ensemble and balance the sound.

The 30-member group will be playing popular Classical music pieces by Hayden, Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Straus and Rossini, plus other favorites.

Both performances will be held at the historic Women’s Club, 131 South Main Street in Brooksville.  The two performances are scheduled for 11:00 to noon on Saturday, April 12th and 1:00-2:00 on Sunday, April 13th.

Founded by John St. John of Brooksville in 2005, the group rehearses every Saturday during the school year at DaySpring Church on Mariner Blvd.  The group welcomes new musicians and adult mentors.  Go to the website for more information.  www.HernandoYouthOrchestra.org.
